Reflection
I really enjoyed reading this book for the book study. I feel that the authors delivered a message that as educators we must not remain stagnate in our learning and thoughts processes. We must reach out and become connected with "our peers" in education, and begin opening those lines of communication through the platforms such as Twitter. I really enjoyed the Take 5 sections at the end of each chapter. This segment of the book would serve as a valuable tool for teachers and administrators at my campus. Each segment provided five action steps to take in order to get started as a connected educator. At first, I thought that the whole idea of a connected educator was unrealistic. I thought that this person sounded like a non stop, 24 hour a day, unreal person. However, as I completed the book I came to a realization that in small steps any individual can become a connected educator. For example, maybe next week subscribe to one blog and see how that experience impacts your learning, and then go from there. I would definitely recommend this book to any educator at any stage of there educational career in hopes that they would become connected and begin building their learning network.
